The family of a California man killed in the Barcelona terror attack filed a lawsuit Wednesday against Google, Facebook and Twitter, alleging the tech giants played a role in “aiding, abetting and knowingly providing support and resources” to the Islamic State group. The three daughters of Jared Tucker, who was among the 13 people killed in the August 17 attack, are plaintiffs in the lawsuit. They are represented by their mother and legal guardian Danelle Sinclair. Tucker, 42, of Walnut Creek, was in Europe with his wife, Heidi Nunes-Tucker, celebrating their first wedding anniversary. DETROIT – Social media and terrorism were the subject of a hearing Wednesday morning in Detroit federal court. A lawsuit claims Google, Facebook and Twitter need to be held accountable for allowing ISIS and other groups to use their platforms to generate terror attacks. ISIS recruits and sends messages daily to its jihadi soldiers using social media. A lawsuit is claiming the social media companies allow it to happen and look the other way, even though aiding and abetting terrorism is against the law. Read the full story here.
