Injured woman accuses Coldwater police of ‘disgusting, thug-like conduct’ in jail incident

A woman is suing several Coldwater, Mich. police officers after she says she was slammed to the ground and knocked unconscious while handcuffed in a secure entrance to the county jail, a bloody incident captured on camera. Tiffany McNeil’s federal lawsuit alleges that police used excessive force and then lied about what happened. “It was absolutely egregious, disgusting, thug-like conduct,” McNeil’s attorney, Solomon Radner, said. “You don’t expect that from police officers, and it shouldn’t be tolerated.”   Read the rest of the story here.

SOUTHFIELD, MI—The Coldwater, Michigan police department and the City are being sued for the alleged physical attack of a local mother of three. The plaintiff Tiffany McNeil, a resident of Coldwater, was hospitalized for a head injury and twenty stitches to her face.  The lawsuit, case number 1:17-CV-01085, was filed in the U.S. District Court in the Eastern District of Michigan on Monday, December 11, 2017.
